Y.B. Menteri Kerja Raya Malaysia, YB. Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works Malaysia, launched Ekovest Berhad Graduate Attachment Programme, in conjunction with Ekovest’s Chinese New Year Open House Celebration.
With an initial admittance of more than 50 young graduates on 2 February 2016, the Ekovest Graduate Attachment Programme will eventually be a platform for over 500 young graduates to become part of Ekovest’s workforce. The Graduate Attachment Programme will provide on the job training to young Malaysian graduates in various fields such as engineering, architecture, quantity surveying and accounting/finance. This programme will be a gateway to enable young graduates to settle quickly into the professional working environment, receive relevant skills development and get hands on experience.
YB. Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works Malaysia, further acknowledged that the correct approach was being done, in that the private sector worked together with public sector, to ensure that the young graduates could see the complete and holistic view of the industry. “Ekovest Berhad will coordinate and work together with Government authorities such as the Ministry of Works Malaysia, Highway Authority Malaysia and several “sub-contractors” to conduct dialogue and mentoring sessions with the graduates. This will ensure that the graduates receive a holistic learning experience to increase their employability and career advancement,” he mentioned in his speech.
EGAP is a program where graduates in all fields of study are engaged and trained under the Ekovest Group. It appraises the graduates on their aptitude, task readiness and will prepare them for the career ahead.” YB. Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works hoped that the young graduates would not waste this golden opportunity to learn and enhance their skills, and to gain more knowledge from those with experience. He further elaborated how initiatives like the Ekovest Graduate Attachment Programme can certainly contribute to the country's progress in preparing a highly skilled workforce to guide and help young graduates to a more positive direction, with enhanced quality and dynamic enthusiasm and knowledge to be on par with the needs of the industry.
Certainly a festive atmosphere, guests who thronged to the Chinese New Year Open House celebration were treated to a delectable array of food and fine company. Furthermore, the crowd was entertained by a lion dance troupe, a 24- Drum Performance, and a traditional dance performance from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sentul 2 and SMK Menjalara.
